Biography

Angela Lee Foreman, Ph.D. is an Immunologist with specialty within Autoimmune Disease and Infectious Diseases, augmented by exposure to environmental contaminants. Dr. Foreman received her Ph.D. from University of California at Davis in 2007 for her investigative work into the sequences of antibody variable region within Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC). During that time, she worked on collaborative research project at several institutions that included National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Newport, Oregon investigating into the antibody response of the Chinook salmon to the local pathogen when exposed to common contaminant within the river; L’Institut Pasteur in Paris, France to work on collaborative project in applying spectratyping technique in identifying the specific antibody sequence within PBC autoimmune disease in humans; University of Michigan, Ann Arbor to investigate the cellular signaling pathway within the Outer Hair Cells (OHC) within the cochlea as an indicator of hearing loss in mice; UC Davis Center for Comparative Medicine to investigate into the antibody response to the influenza virus within the local Mesenteric lymph node in mice. Then, Dr. Foreman went on to teach at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) for several years while including undergraduates within her research projects. At RIT, Dr. Foreman investigated into the CCR5 delta-32 deletion within Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) in human samples, and antibody variable region response in frog model. Upon Dr. Foreman’s return to the Bay Area, her most recent projects include as a consultant for a stem-cell research for a pharmaceutical start-up; and Principal Investigator / Study Director for Clinical Research Study for a medical device start-up.
