Sylviane Muller received her doctoral degrees in Molecular Biology (1978) and Science (1984) from the University of Strasbourg (France). She worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Max-Planck Institute for Immunobiology in Freiburg (Germany). She is currently Distinguished class Research Director at the CNRS and Professor at the Institute of Advanced Studies of the Strasbourg University (chair Therapeutic immunology). She is deputy director of the Molecular and Cellular Biology Institute, Director of the CNRS Unit Immunopathology and therapeutic chemistry, and Head of the Drug discovery center for cancer and inflammation Medalis awarded 'Laboratory of Excellence’. Her research interests focus on molecular and cellular events involved in autoimmunity, especially in the lupus disease. She discovered the P140/Lupuzor peptide that is currently evaluated in a phase III clinical trial for lupus. She is the co-author of over 345 publications, co-inventor of ~30 patents and co-founder of NeoMPS (1986) and ImmuPharma (2002) companies. Angela Lee Foreman, Ph.D. is an Immunologist with specialty within Autoimmune Disease and Infectious Diseases, augmented by exposure to environmental contaminants. Dr. Foreman received her Ph.D. from University of California at Davis in 2007 for her investigative work into the sequences of antibody variable region within Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC). During that time, she worked on collaborative research project at several institutions that included National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Newport, Oregon investigating into the antibody response of the Chinook salmon to the local pathogen when exposed to common contaminant within the river; L’Institut Pasteur in Paris, France to work on collaborative project in applying spectratyping technique in identifying the specific antibody sequence within PBC autoimmune disease in humans; University of Michigan, Ann Arbor to investigate the cellular signaling pathway within the Outer Hair Cells (OHC) within the cochlea as an indicator of hearing loss in mice; UC Davis Center for Comparative Medicine to investigate into the antibody response to the influenza virus within the local Mesenteric lymph node in mice. Then, Dr. Foreman went on to teach at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) for several years while including undergraduates within her research projects. At RIT, Dr. Foreman investigated into the CCR5 delta-32 deletion within Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) in human samples, and antibody variable region response in frog model. Upon Dr. Foreman’s return to the Bay Area, her most recent projects include as a consultant for a stem-cell research for a pharmaceutical start-up; and Principal Investigator / Study Director for Clinical Research Study for a medical device start-up.

Alessandro Antonelli (Professor, MD) completed the degree in Medicine, cum laude, in 1982, the Specialization in Endocrinology in 1985, the Specialization in Occupational Health in 1987, and the Specialization in Oncology in 1992, at the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy. He is now Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the University of Pisa. Anthony Shock received his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of London in 1987 followed by post-doctoral work at the National Heart & Lung Institute in London. He was then employed by a Biotech company called Celltech which eventually transformed into the global biopharmaceutical company, UCB. He has researched on a wide range of drug targets, both small molecule- and antibody-based therapies, including two antibody targets that have been evaluated in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, namely epratuzumab and dapirolizumab pegol.

Dr. KUO, Ho-Chang Kuo, MD, PhD, FAAAAI graduated from National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan with a M.D. degree in 1999 and PhD degree from Graduate Institute of Clinical Medical Science at Chang Gung University, Taiwan in 2011. Guixiu Shi has completed his PhD at University of Montreal, Canada, and finished his postdoc at The Trudeau Institute, USA. He is professor and Chair of the department of rheumatology and clinical immunology in The First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University.
